This is my second year as media specialist at Walkersville Elementary. I have been a media specialist for 8 years, and before that I taught deaf students in different schools in Frederick County. In my spare time, I love reading and traveling with my family.

Hey, Happy New Year! One of my favorite books is "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. Charlie dreams of getting a "Golden ticket" in a candy bar so he can win a trip to Willie Wonka's candy factory. When I was a kid I checked this book out of the library again and again.

Hi- I saw the oldest movie of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and I think it would be interesting to read.
I really like Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney because it's very funny. There are a series of books that are very goofy, and there are word bubbles, and it's like a comic. The main character is Greg. He has problems with other people and he uses weird solutions to work them out.
I really enjoy reading the Dear Dumb Diary series. These books are hilarious! My favorite is The Princess and the Frog. Jamie does crazy things to make a boy like her.
hi my favorite book is roll of thunder hear my cry. it is very sad. it has alot ofsad things some things are un fair in this book.
I read the book,"Frindle," and a character named Nick starts to call pens frindles. He gets in a lot of trouble for doing that, and a lot of funny things happen.

Hi I am in the middle of reading a book called ''A Wrinkel In Time''. So far I like it alot it is a book i would like to re-read after im finished.
Hi my favorite book is Harry Potter and The Socers stone by J.K Rowwling.After i read the book i saw the movie to see what was the differnce. I found out that the movie skips a bunck of stuff from the book.
Hi the book I am reading this week is called The Cat Ate My Gymsuit. It is a very funny book because she thinks she is a blimp because she is fat. I hope you get a chance to read it!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite Poet is Shel Silverstein- especially "Where the Sidewalk Ends"- but my favorite author is Rick Riordan who writes the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I reccomend that series for any Greek God lover or for anybody who wants to learn about the Greek Gods.
hi most of my favorite books books are by Roald Dahl i think all his books are really good but two of my favorite books by him are "The BFG" and "Matilda". But anyone who is into like funny and sometimes a little bit of sad would really enjoy his books. One of the really famous books he wrote is "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" so if you like that stry you'll like all his books.

If you like fiction and action kinda check out the "Warrior" saga i cant remember the name of the author but they are really good books!

If you like action, read twilight. It's a mix of romance, then action.(romaction)In one second, Bella is a hair away from dying. In another, she's at school.
I recommend "Matilda" ,It is about a girl who is as smart as a college student and has parents that dont really care about nothing but money and a school principal is mean and the teacher is fun loving and careing in the end the tearcher"Mrs.honey" adopts matilda.
Hey my favorite book is "Diary of a whimpy kid" The last straw. I think this book is awesome and I like it because it's a really fun book. And it's not only fun it's also funny my favorite character in the book is the little brother manny. He is really funny and young I like the thing I like about him is that he calls his brother's ploopy even though I don't know waht it mean's it just sounds funny and I like him.

Hey its quinn i thought id visit cause i was sort of boerd and remembered this place so i recomend Percy Jackson & the olymipians or the alex riders but both are really good books have "fun"
Hi I love reading room one by Andrew Clements because the boy in the story helps a little girl and her family. I like reading because it's fun. I want to read more of Andrew Clement's books.
I don't think I could pick one favorite book, but my all time favorite author is Judy Blume.
She has great children, young adult, and adult stories. Give them a try, you are sure to laugh and keep coming back for more books!
My favorite book is "Leaves in October". In the story the girls father can't pay for their house so they grabed trash bags and stuffed as much stuff as they could in it. Then the move to a homeless house. The girl makes a friend at the orphanage and they make a idea to make money for her father. Will it work out?

I have a lot of favorite books. One of my Favorite books I am reading now it is called The City of Ember. It is about a city that relies on canned goods and light bulbs to power there city. In Ember it is always dark, and after the age 12 you start your new job. This book is about trying to save there city from being dark 24/7.
I have so many favorite books that I could not say all of them on this blogging comment. But a book that I finished recently was called "The Cupid Chronicles". It was about a girl named Willa who lives in Cape Cod,Massachusetts. Her parents own a inn which she lives in. But one day suddenly she saw the librarian of a nearby library walking out the library caring a box of books, it turns out that it is closing.So her and her friends help save the library by hosting fundrasing events in the barn in the backyard of the inn. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is in for a good read!
I read a book called Witch Catcher it is about a girl that is at the age 12 years old and named Jen. She and her father decide to move into her fathers great uncles house. When they get to the house Jen runs to the backyard because she sees a tower. Her father says it is to dangerous and very old and that she can not go in the tower. Jen runs straight to her room and then steels the key from her fathers room to the tower. Jen opens the tower door and climbs the long staircase. She finds a globe that contains many colors. Read Witch Catcher to find out what happens next!
My favorite book is wayside school is falling down the author is Louis Sachar and it is filled with 30 chapters the caracters are Mrs.Jewls,the studerts,and louis and i love this book because it is funny and strange at the same time but my favorite chapters are BeBe's baby brother it's about bebe is a great artist but she lies to her teacher saying her brother draws on her homework but he does not egsest.My second favorite chapter is The Substitute because there is a kid named Mark Miller but her lied and said his name was Benjamin and there was a sub and jason and steven tried to play a prank on her when mark was going to tell her his real name.

I love the book series " dear America" Becuase There are lots of differen't ones. They Include long past hisory and They can always make me laugh. There are enjoyable books to get into in your spare time becuase somthing about them always makes you get right into them and when your mom goes "lights out time for bed!" you never wanna put the book down! ha ha ha. I recomend this book to anyone who Likes history and Who likes to get a big laugh every onece and a while.
My favorite book is Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. It is an exiting book about a girl from the kingdom of Kildenree. When Princess Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee (or Ani for short) was young, her aunt taught her how to speak to birds and horses. But when her father (King of Kildenree) died her mother (Queen of Kildenree) arranged her to be married to a prince in Bayern. To learn about the rest of the adventure read Goose Girl and also look for the other Books of Bayern: #1. Goose Girl #2. Enna Burning #3. River Secrets and #4. Forest Born. I hope you love these books as much as I do.

Hello I just got finished reading the book "The meanest doll in the world". It has even more excitment in it than in the first one! "The Meanest Doll In The World" is the sequel to "The Doll People". The frist one was about when Annabelle goes out find her missing Anut Anutie Sarah who's been gone for 45 years! On one of her journey's she finds another doll this doll is for Nora Kate's sister who is the owner of the 100 some year old doll house. The girls become friends and try looking for Auntie Sarah they have hits on where to find her do you think it will be enough to find her (I hope so). The 2nd book "The meanest doll in the world" is about a journey and how Annabelle and Tiffany (The friend that Annabelle found in book one.) They get stuck in some place for about 2 days the get in another place where they get stuck there for 3 days. AND when they finally get home something terible happens. Can Annabelle be able to use her smart brain to get of this mess? The frist book I don't know where you'll find that but I know you can get "The meanest doll in the world" at the Walkersville Elementry School library. ENJOY THOSE BOOKS!
Hello again I just thought of one of a book I enjoyed a lot in 2nd grade. The book was "The BFG" the "BFG is about a Big Friendly Gaint that comes along and takes a little girl out of her room cause she's seen to much. He shows her the way of the Gaint life and then he tells her about other gaints. I really enjoyed the book and I think that you will too. Another book my 2nd grade teacher read to us was "James and The Gaiant Peach" it was so much fun to listen to and so cool. In the story the boy James finds a great big peah he goes inside of it and finds bugs his size that can talk too! He lives with them and has fun and has lots of cool adventures with his new pals. I would read both books over and over again because they were such great books! If I were a person out there who hasn't read any of the two books I mentioned get cracken cause they're GREAT BOOKS!
My favorite book is the tale of desperaux because it had a lot of characters that I can relate to. I think that kids older and younger than me should read this because I hope that kids can relate to the book like me. Please read this book because I love it but i also think you should read it to see if you like it or love it.
Hey Everybody! I am reading a great book now that most of you have probably read before. It is called "Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief". It is a book about Greek gods and old myths. Percy Jackson is a kid that has trouble in school but has a wild imagination! But when he finds out that his best friend is half man half goat! Crazy right? He find out that he needs to go with his mother on vacation but it is not a normal one! Him and his mother get chased by a half man half bull! But when the monster gets a hold of her he kills her! Then Percy gets to find out who his real father is. Poseidon the god of the sea!He gets sent to this camp where he finds out that Zeus the god of the air thinks that Percy stole his master lightning bolt! I hope you read this book because it is sooooo great!
